Photography by Rick Pushinsky
Over a number of months photographer Rick Pushinsky visited the Berlin atelier of Mark Jan Krayenhoff van de Leur, architect turned clothing designer and artist, to record his unique and personal design process. His one-off, handmade garments are created using methods and software more commonly associated with the practice of architecture, resulting in final pieces which are elaborately constructed, avoid repetition and do not allow the eye to settle.
To reflect the intentionally visible construction of the garments we created a loose bound publication with exposed binding. This allowed it to be deconstructed and recreated in multiple variations, each one unique. Designed and printed on four paper stocks, each containing a different aspect of Rick’s photographic essay, the publication was laid out and collated to avoid repetition whilst maintaining a consistent structure as a whole.
Printed in a limited edition of 150 the publication is available to purchase through Château International.
